Introduction to Carqueiranne, France

The seaside resort town of Carqueiranne is a pleasant place to spend some time along France's Mediterranean coast. Most people come here for the beaches, which range from Almanarre Beach with its good windsurfing to the popular nudist scene at Ile du Levant. Plenty of hotels in Carqueiranne are on hand, providing both luxury and affordable accommodation to the holidaymakers who visit. Dozens of restaurants, bars and little shops can be found along the streets that line the beach and run uphill from the water. For a break from the sand, spend an afternoon at the Parc des Pins Penches, a pleasant public park, or venture over to Port des Salettes and watch the boats go in and out. From the village of Carqueiranne, visitors can rent bikes and cruise around the rolling inland hills or hit the trails and hike to ancient ruins to enjoy panoramic views. It's the nearly perfect climate that lures many people to this part of France, but of course the beaches and sea aren't too bad either.
