Hotels in Calais give visitors outstanding access to both the main sites of the city and key transport routes. From the port at Calais, there are regular ferry sailings to Dover in Kent, England. A ferry crossing typically takes about 75 minutes. Another good way to get across the English Channel is with 'Le Shuttle’ trains that stop at the station on the western fringes of Calais. France’s high-speed TGV rail network is excellent but the Calais TGV station is about 15 minutes by car from Calais hotels. From hotels in Calais, it only takes a few minutes to get on the E402 Euroroute, which runs north and south along the coast. Via the E 15, Paris is less than three hours away by car. Many shops, restaurants, cafes and other amenities are all close by. Immediately to the west of Calais is a large nature park that provides beautiful views of the sea and plenty of room for relaxing walks.
