Introduction to Burlats, France
A fascinating range of history awaits travellers who make it to Burlats, an ancient town in the southwest of France. The architecture here is superb, featuring highlights such as the 11th-century Adelaide Pavilion, which is said to be the birthplace of the notion of courtly love. The 12th-century House of Adam and St Pierre Church are two other notable sites that warrant a visit. There are four 14th-century gates that provide entry to the walled town, where visitors will discover a wonderfully preserved medieval core that appears stuck in time. Burlats is a small community but there are a handful of nice restaurants and shops that cater to both the local and tourist population. Surrounding the town are endless vistas of rolling countryside dotted with old chateaux and farm houses, many of which have been transformed into Burlats hotels. Visitors will find hours of great driving to complement the options for walking around the old town core. other spellings: burlasthotels, burltas otel, buralts hotell, bulrats hote, brulats hotes, ubrlats hotle
