Bergerac is a town in the Dordogne in south-west France. Bergerac is a popular tourist destination with flourishing wine and tobacco industries. There is a choice of Bergerac hotels close to the city centre, especially around Place Doublet and facing the River Dordogne. Bergerac’s chief attraction is its old town which features old wood framed houses, narrow streets, small Bergerac hotels and pensions, and picturesque squares with enticing cafs. Bergerac has two museums, one of which, the Tobacco Museum, is in a 17th century structure and operates a non-smoking policy. There are several more Bergerac hotels options in the charming Dordogne countryside around Bergerac. Other accommodation around Bergerac is in self-catering facilities at renovated farmhouses, bed and breakfasts and campsites. There are also one or two Bergerac hotels on the outskirts of the town offering easy access to the countryside. Bergerac’s airport is five kilometres from town. Bergerac’s train station is near the town centre.
