Lenin Museum: will be of interest to those fascinated by this Soviet revolutionary figure who spent some time in Tampere. Housed in the very apartment Lenin and Stalin met for the first time, the museum features a sofa Lenin once slept on and other quaint exhibits.
Tampere Art Museum: is where local artists show off their masterpieces. The highlight of the museum is the permanent Moominvalley exhibition which displays Tove Jansson’s troll family.
Sarkanniemi Amusement Park: is probably the most popular entertainment venue for the young and the young-at-heart. Make friends with a number of dolphins at the dolphinarium and enjoy the views at the top of the Nasinneula tower.
Pispala: is located on a ridge between Tampere’s two lakes. Once a ghetto for lower and working class people, Pispala is now an exclusive neighbourhood where the city’s wealthy reside. There’s a beautiful park, Pyynikki Park, located in the area where you can climb up to the tower and enjoy the views of the ridge and lakes. Open-air performances are usually held at the Pyynikin kesateatteri by Lake Pyhajarvi in the summer.
