Finland Travel Guide

Introduction

Overview & Introduction to Finland
The country is one of the world’s least populated in relation to its available landmass with a mere five million residents spread across a hefty 330,000 square kms of land. This distinct lack of overpopulation has meant the efficient use of natural resources and consequently a standard of living among the highest in the world.
Helsinki is Finland’s capital and is a pretty city with just less than one million residents. Few visitors planning sightseeing holidays miss Helsinki off their list on account of its extensive selection of cultural attractions and excellent selection of leisure activities. Among the country’s other big cities, Tampere and Espoo are worthy of mention.
Getting into and out of the country is a problem-free affair for most visitors with a variety of international airports maintaining global connections as well as ferry services from the UK and other EU countries. By land, it’s possible to arrive via rail, bus or private vehicle from neighbouring countries and from destinations further a field in Europe also.
