Introduction to Rovaniemi, Finland
Santa Claus is the most famous resident and most popular tourist attraction in Rovaniemi, the capital of Finland's northernmost province, Lapland. The Santa Claus Village is actually located eight kilometres north of the city, not far from the recently renovated Santapark amusement park. But this northern city has more to offer visitors than just the opportunity to give Santa their Christmas wishes. Guests staying at Rovaniemi hotels can take in Finland's longest river, Kemijoki, which runs adjacent to the compact city centre. The Ounasvaara hill, on the river's west bank, is a popular place to hike and camp under the endless summer sun.
