Introduction to Levi, Finland
One of Finland’s most eclectic winter sport resort towns is Levi, located in the Finnish Lapland region. It is found within the municipality of Kittila and is serviced by a moderate sized airport that offers daily routes to the capital, Helsinki. Hotels in Levi are generally designed to accommodate the ski-enthusiastic crowds that constantly flock to the town every year. There are several ski resort hotels in Levi which provide ideal accommodation choices for visitors. In regards to tourism, Levi is largely centred around the winter sports scene. However, in many of the Levi hotels and along the main streets of town, pubs and clubs remain open most nights until the early hours of the morning. Altogether, there are more than 230kms of tracks set aside for skiing and nearly 1,000kms of routes for snowmobiles. These slopes are the main attractions within town but there are also a number of summer activities available for visitors in the warmer months.
