Introduction to Forssa, Finland
Forssa is a town of around 18,000 inhabitants in the Scandinavian country of Finland. It is situated almost in the middle of a triangle which is defined by the country's three biggest cities - Helsinki, Tampere and Turku. The town is in Southern Finland Province and is part of the region of Tavastia Proper. Forssa is best known for the annual events it stages, such as the Holjat Festival, which is held on the first weekend in August and features excellent live music. Another popular event in the Pick-Nick car show which draws car enthusiasts from all over Europe and is the biggest of its sort in Northern Europe. Finland's second-biggest marathon event, the Suvi-ilta Maraton, takes place once a year in the town, while the sport of horse trotting, popular in Finland, is regularly practiced in Forssa at the local trotting track.
