By air: although Suva is the capital, Nadi on the opposite side of Viti Levu serves as the main international gateway to Fĳji although the airport at Suva do;es offer a small number of connections. Nausori Airport, also on the main island, has a similarly small number of international flights to Sydney and Auckland.

Into Nadi International Airport, there are direct flights on Air New Zealand from Los Angeles, Incheon in South Korea, Auckland and Wellington among other destinations. The National Carrier Air Pacific flies to destinations throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as to Japan, the US, Canada, Tonga and Samoa.
