Activities in Waterford
Angling: the coastline and estuaries of the rivers Suir and Blackwater are the perfect location for shore angling. They are well known for salmon, sea trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, roach, mullet and shad. Fully equipped sea angling boats are available for hire or charter at Dunmore east and Dungarvan.
Golf: both the serious and casual golfer are catered for in Waterford. The city and county have an array of 18 and 9-hole golf courses, complemented by pitch and putt facilities. Some of the course are set amidst beautiful countryside and offer wonderful scenic views.
Walking: if you enjoy an amble, try the Faithlegg Forest Walk where you can see a variety of flora and fauna. The area is home to rabbits, foxes, badgers and several types of songbirds as well as geological forms that date back millions of years.
