By air: Limerick is serviced by Shannon Airport, the regional air hub, which is a 30 minute drive from the city. There are several major airlines with routes from the UK and continental Europe. Bus Eireann provides transportation to Colbert Station in the city, departing frequently from outside the arrivals terminal: the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Taxis are also readily available, with a desk and taxi rank just outside the arrivals area.
By rail: train services are available from every part of Ireland to Limerick. Irish Rail operates trains from Dublin, Killarney and Cork, with services from other locations linked through these hubs. There are eight daily trains from Dublin; two from Rosslare Harbour (where a number of ferries arrive) and Tipperary and one each day from Cork. All trains arrive at the centrally-located Colbert Station, which also serves as Limerick’s main bus terminal.
By bus: Bus Eireann connects Limerick with most other cities in Ireland. Buses arrive at Colbert Station, Limerick’s central bus terminal which is a short walk from the city centre. The bus service between Shannon Airport and the city centre is also operated by Bus Eireann.
