Febuary/May/September/November Festivals

Dublin Toy and Train Fair: this is chiefly an event for collectors, although it will also appeal to toy lovers and children. You will find everything from dolls to constructions sets and toy trains to teddy bears. The fair is well worth a visit and is a great place to pick up a bargain. It is held in February, May, September and November.
June Festivals

Music in the Park: beginning in June and continuing throughout the summer months, Dublin offers free concerts in each of the city's major parks. These concerts are held on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and cover a wide variety of genres such as jazz, classical and swing.
July Festivals

Oxegen Festival: every July, this two-day rock festival brings in the crowds. You can expect to see top Irish and international acts at this long-running festival.
August Festivals

The Liffey Swim: every August, hundreds of entrants compete in this race across the River Liffey. Many supporters arrive decked out in fancy dress.
GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final: held every September at Croke. The GAA finals offer visitors a chance to see this fast-moving, traditional Irish sport at its best.
Fingal Walking Festival: this annual event held every October is perfect those who love the outdoors. It is open to everyone and offers a range of walks that vary in difficulty.
December Festivals

National Craft Fair: this five-day fair held in December showcases the most impressive Irish crafts, and offers an extensive range of Christmas gift ideas and souvenirs.
