Dublin Travel Guide - Day Trips
Howth Head: is a small peninsula just north of Dublin where after a climb to the summit, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of Dublin City. Howth Village is a quaint little fishing village that offers a glimpse into rural Ireland and has friendly locals who love nothing better than to meet visitors in the local pubs. The village is on the way to the summit, which once reached, offers a great place for a picnic as well as walks along the cliff side.
Hill of Tara: is one of Ireland’s premier attractions and was the symbolic seat of Ireland’s High Kings until the 11th century. Ring forts can still be seen, but many were destroyed by the English on their quest for the Ark of the Covenant.
Glendalough: translates as 'Valley of the Two Lakes' and is famous for its ancient monastic settlement and natural beauty.
Drogheda: is one of Ireland's oldest and most historical towns dating back to 200 BC. The town is associated with a number of significant events in the history of Ireland such as the Battle of the Boyne, St Oliver Plunkett, Poynings Law and Cromwell's Siege.
