Introduction to Tallinn - City Centre
Located on the Gulf of Finland’s south coast is Tallinn, known for being the capital city of Estonia. There are many hotels in Tallinn near to the city’s most famous tourist spots such as the hill of Toompea, which boasts many medieval and historical buildings, traditional cobbled streets and quaint shops. The old part of town is the most visited area of the city, with its 15th, 16th and 17th century buildings. The centre of this medieval section of the city is Raekoja Plats, a square lined with cafes. However, attractions farther out include Strommi Beach, which is in the north of the city and welcomes swimmers with its clean waters. To the west are Kadroig Palace, Tallinn Botanical Gardens and Harku Lake. There are many trendy nightclubs and bars throughout. Getting around Tallinn is best done on foot, but if venturing farther than the Old Town, buses, trams and taxis are available.Visit our Tallinn Travel Guide
