Introduction to Parnu - City Centre
The seaside resort city of Parnu is known as Estonia's Summer Capital, thanks to its fabulous location on the sea, beautiful scenery, great beaches, famous spas, scenic parks, and fun festivals and parties. With a history stretching back nearly 1,000 years, the town has plenty of historic interest, and the streets around hotels in Parnu City Centre offer the most incredible walks down colourful and pedestrianised thoroughfares that, to many visitors, might look like something out of a Disney theme park. The old town is packed with quaint buildings from the Middle Ages and the resort areas of town offer lovely wooden villas. Alexander I, the Russian Czar, once stayed at the fabulous art-nouveau building that is today the Town Hall. The late-18th century Church of Jekatarina's baroque style influenced many churches in the Baltic region. The Seeki Maja, or Almshouse, is the town's oldest building and dates from 1658. The tourist information centre, which is easy to find on Uus Street, will provide all the information needed to figure out where to head first. Keen shoppers will like the boutiques in the old town, many of which are found on Ruutli Street. The city boasts many spas, conference centres and theatres, which host many of the festivals for which the city is famous. The city's beautiful, one-kilometre-long beach is perfect for families.other spellings: parnuhotels citycenter, otelin panur city, parnu city hotell, hotelin parnu citycenter
