By air: the nearest commercial airport to York is just outside of the nearby Yorkshire city of Leeds, less than an hour by road to the southwest. Leeds Bradford International Airport has become an increasingly prominent hub for budget airlines in recent years with numerous domestic and European connections.
By road: York does not sit on any of the major motorways heading south to north but it is still well-connected to Britain’s road network and within a two-hour drive from a host of major cities in the Midlands and the North including Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Manchester and Middlesbrough.
