Theatre is a major attraction for both visitors and local residents. The West End shows feature big name productions and top celebrities, with most of them centred around Shaftsbury Avenue and Charing Cross Road.
The Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Court have some excellent modern plays and plenty of Shakespeare productions. There are plenty of stylish and trendy bars in the city centre, but you can also find traditional taverns that are hundreds of years old and provide a completely different type of atmosphere.
