Cinema: Leicester Square is the centre of the cinema industry and most of the chains have large theatres showing the latest releases. Prices are generally more expensive than other parts of London. There is an IMAX cinema near to Waterloo Station showing 3D films, and the ICA Cinema and National Film Theatre are good for art house films.
Shopping: London has some of the best shopping of any major city and each district is unique in its own way. The West End is the principal area and includes Oxford Street, the busiest shopping street in Europe. Regent Street intersects Oxford Street at Oxford Circus and is home of the world famous Hamleys toy store.
Knightsbridge contains London's best known store, Harrods, while round the corner on Sloane Street you can find designer shops and boutiques. Those with too much money will enjoy shopping on Old and New Bond Street, where you can find some of the top jewellers. For a cheaper and more cultural shopping experience, head to the large weekend market at Camden Lock or the flea market on Portobello Road on Fridays and Saturdays.
Theatre: Londoners are passionate about the theatre and the number of productions and quality of shows is simply unrivalled. You can find traditional and avant-garde productions and prices are surprisingly affordable.
