Leeds Travel Guide - Getting There
By air: Leeds has its own international airport, situated eight miles northwest of the city centre. Leeds Bradford International Airport provides flights to most major destinations in the UK and Europe. The airport is fully equipped with facilities for passengers. You can find an array of shops, eateries and cafes as well as banking services, bureau de change and ATMs.
Travelling to the city is easy. Coaches provided by LBA Airlink operate between the airport and the city centre while taxis are available at the taxi rank in front of the Arrivals Hall.
By rail: getting to Leeds by train is a convenient way to arrive, with Leeds City Station situated within the heart of the central business district. Hourly trains leave to Leeds from London, Newcastle, Liverpool, Hull and Edinburgh via the Coast Main Line.
By car: motorists will find it very easy to drive to Leeds. The city can be accessed by the M1 motorway which connects Leeds to North and South routes. Leeds is linked to East and West via the M62. However, if you plan to drive in the city, keep in mind that parking isn’t easy to find and traffic can be quite bad during the rush hours.
