Heathrow Airport Travel Guide

Getting There

Getting to Heathrow Airport
By train: the Heathrow Express provides an easy and quick connection between Central London and the airport. Trains run every 15 minutes and the journey takes under 20 minutes, although trips to Terminal 4 take approximately eight minutes longer. Trains leave from Paddington Station, where tickets can be purchased.
By underground: the Piccadilly line stops at Terminal 1, 2 and 3 and a separate station for Terminal 4. Trains can however be very crowded during rush hour and run between 05:30 and 00:30. There are walkways that link the stations with all terminals. Tickets can be purchased at the stations.
By taxi: the easiest, although most expensive, way to get to and from the airport is to take a taxi. London black taxis can be found outside all four terminals, while local destinations have their own cab companies.
By car: Heathrow Airport is easily accessed on the M4. Take the exit at junction 4 for terminals 1, 2 and 3 or junction 3 for terminal 4. You can also reach the airport via junction 14 off the M25.
