Getting There

Getting to Brighton
By air: the airport closest to Brighton is London’s Gatwick, which is only 30 minutes by train. Gatwick is one of the busiest airports in Britain, and is serviced by regularly-scheduled flights from all continents, including at least a dozen trans-Atlantic arrivals daily, as well as a high volume from many European airports.
The airport facilities are efficient, and you’ll find that it’s considerably less busy than Heathrow. Trains make the run to Brighton every 20 minutes; and the M23 is a direct link for anyone driving.
By bus: coach service from London is provided by National Express, and tends to be somewhat slow, taking around two hours to reach Brighton. Service to Brighton is also provided from Pool Valley coach station, connecting Old Steine and the seaside resort.
A budget coach service from London is operated by Megabus, but once again, this is a slow option, taking around two hours to reach the city. Stagecoach provides services from Portsmouth via Worthing. Brighton and Hove Buses operate services from Eastbourne and also Tunbridge Wells. Discounted passes for unlimited travel are available.
