Brighton Travel Guide - Eating Out

The venues are often interesting and there’s always something new on the dining scene for you to try out. These include bars by the beachfront, seafood establishments, fish and chip shops, chic cafes and many stylish restaurants located throughout the area.
Although there’s no lack of restaurants anywhere in Brighton, the ‘Lanes’ section of the old city is typically considered to be the best of the eating and drinking areas. This quarter is off-limits to vehicular traffic, for the most part, making it a pleasant place to stroll around, looking for the perfect place to dine.
Another great choice for both English and Continental food is Melrose, which you’ll find on Kings Road. The vegetarian choices are incredibly varied with the most famous vegetarian eatery being Food for Friends. Terre a Terre is another excellent vegetarian restaurant serving up their reasonably-priced menu in a venue characterised by its bright and cheery decor and its lively crowd.
The George pub serves vegetarian snacks and meals, and is highly recommended. A relatively new addition to the restaurant scene, also serving up quality food in a good location, is the Eagle. The range here is wide: vegan, vegetarian and even some dishes for the carnivores among us.
