Day Trips and Excursions in Brighton
Chichester: in this nearby town, you’ll find a wonderful example of Gothic architecture in the Chichester Cathedral and also the interesting Roman ruins of Fishbourne. There are also lovely and pleasant coastal resorts in this area including Worthing and Goring.
Devil’s Dyke: just north of Brighton, you’ll come to the Devil's Dyke. This is a beautiful spot with many viewpoints along the paths, providing panoramic views and small towns with quaint pubs are scattered throughout.
Rye’s magnificent castle is situated overlooking Kent County and the Romney Marshes. Travelling farther inland will take you to Lewes, a town boasting numerous examples of historic architecture.
South Downs Way: in addition to the Devil’s Dyke, South Downs draws many outdoors enthusiasts as it’s a great place for cycling and hiking. Trails wind their way through this scenic and historic area, starting with the Seven Sisters and continuing on to the spectacular sights of the town of Winchester, which is located in nearby Hampshire.
