As Blackpool tends to be a bit flamboyant by nature, it prides itself on its cabaret culture and over-the-top stage acts. Variety shows are all about mayhem combined sparkling, colourful and outrageous costumes and stage sets, accompanied by loud, powerful music.
If your preference is for having a drink or two in a sociable spot, you’ll probably be pleased with what Blackpool has to offer, as the city boasts lots of bars and pubs of that description. There are plenty of livelier places as well: wherever you choose to go, you can rest assured that there’s another option just around the corner, as most of the night spots are found in the same area of town.
Blackpool can be somewhat rowdy at night, largely due to the hen and stag parties that are so popular here. As a last night out for brides- or bridegrooms-to-be, the drinking tends to be heavy, the attire risque and the behaviour sometimes outrageous.
Guest house proprietors and hotel managers often complain that this carrying-on tends to drive away families and their more upmarket clientele. Other than the noise and general carrying-on, these parties are unlikely to have any effect on your enjoyment of a night out in Blackpool, as there’s always another venue around the corner.
