Getting Around

Getting Around Blackpool
Bus: under the name Metro Coastlines, local and regional bus service is provided by Blackpool Transport. Regularly-scheduled service operates around the resort and connects with all surrounding towns.
Train: the town has two rail stations, with a combined total of 30 platforms, which are used mainly by high volume summer season traffic. Blackpool Central, located near the Blackpool Tower, was closed some time ago. Blackpool North and Blackpool South now handle all rail traffic in and out of the town.
Tram: for many years, the Blackpool tramway was Britain's only tramway to be found outside of museums; and was also the first electric system in the country. Today, it provides transportation all along the seafront, following the length of the promenade. Beginning in the late 20th century, cities such as Manchester and Sheffield have also rebuilt their tramways and re-established service.
