Cumbria, in the north of England, is home to some interesting towns including Workington, a pleasant town situated directly on the coastline. The town has a number of historical sights, well-kept buildings and an array of things to do. Workington hotels offer visitors the chance to stay in some lovely converted old buildings so that they can feel the authentic old world charm of the town. Many visitors enjoy staying in Workington because of its close proximity to the famous Lake District, whose green rolling hills surround the town. There are some lovely places to eat here and perhaps the most famous sight in the town is the Port of Workington. This port is still used today and is a great location for watching the sunset. In the last decade, the town has been updated extensively and it now boasts a large modern shopping complex which is located in the town centre.
