Introduction to Wolverhampton - City Centre
A large sprawling town to the northeast of the major city of Birmingham, Wolverhampton does not generally feature on the itinerary of most tourists. Most visitors to the city come to see friends or attend an event. There are plenty of hotels in Wolverhampton to handle the demand. Getting in and out of Wolverhampton is fairly practical. The main railway station is located just outside the centre, from where are regular services to Birmingham. Shopping is well served by the Mander and Wulfrun shopping centres, both of which sit right in the middle of town. Among the historic attractions are Mosely Old Hall, Wightwick Manor and the Church of St Peter. Tourists keen on history should visit Boscobel House and the Black Country Museum, the latter which tracks life through the industrial revolution. Local roads offer excellent access to the Shropshire countryside, home to a variety of regional attractions.
