Introduction to Wendover, England
The parish and market town of Wendover is situated at the bottom of the Chiltern Hills in the south-central English county of Buckinghamshire. The area is full of adorable hamlets such as Cobblers Hill, Kings Ash and World's End. A scenic walk can be enjoyed on the Grand Union Canal's Wendover Arm, which stretches for eight kilometres. Wildlife, most notably a colony of Mandarin ducks, lives here. The parish has a lot of both lush forests and arable farmland. A cultural highlight is the parish church of St Mary, which nestles on a hill and has Celtic origins. Also gracing Wendover is a handsome spired clock-tower made of red brick. Meanwhile, Aylesbury Street is tree-lined and features old homes such as Red House, which was built in the 1700s, and the old wooden Chiltern House, which dates to the 1500s. Wendover hotels are full of the cultural richness that permeates small English towns. Mountain biking is popular in the area's hills.
