Wellingborough, in the English county of Northamptonshire, is a relatively large market town of more than 72,000 inhabitants. The town is situated roughly 18kms northeast of Northampton and just north of the River Nene. Wellingborough boasts many major high street chains, of which the majority is located in the town centre. Swansgate shopping centre is also located in the town centre. A thrice-weekly market is held in the town, as is a weekly privately-organised market. The town has good transport links, with the A45 which runs around the south of Wellingborough linking the town to Northampton, Rushden and Peterborough. It also links the town to the M1 and A14 routes, which in turn link to the west and east of the country. The town's Grade II listed train station, just to the east of the town centre, provides a regular train service to London, with the journey time taking around 55 minutes. There are numerous comfortable Wellingborough hotels located in and around the town centre, close to the major shopping areas and All Hallows Church with its listed steeple.
