Introduction to Watford - City Centre
Once famous for its printing and brewing industries, the town of Watford is now of interest to tourists for its shopping and landmarks. In addition to its bustling High Street, Watford city centre offers a shopping centre, a shopping park and a retail park. Cycling is particularly popular here, with cycle tracks running throughout town. Cassiobury Park, on the former grounds of Cassiobury House, is nearly 200 acres of lush greens, shady trees and the meandering River Gade. The Grand Union Canal cuts through the park, which is considered one of the best in the country. Film and music enthusiasts should make it to Watford Colosseum, where some of Hollywood's greatest films have recorded their soundtracks and many world-renowned performers have performed. Theatre lovers and others staying in Watford City Centre hotels can book a show at either performance venue in town, the Edwardian-style Watford Palace Theatre or the Pumphouse Theatre and Arts Centre, a converted old pumping station. Watford Museum houses an exquisite collection of fine and contemporary art, as do a selection of local galleries. A stay in Watford city centre is guaranteed to delight.other spellings: watfod otel center, watfod city hotell, watphod hote center, wachford hotes city center
