Introduction to Ullesthorpe, England
Ullesthorpe lies five kilometres northwest of Lutterworth in South Leicestershire, central England. A small village of some 1,000 residents, Ullesthorpe is famed for its windmill. A medieval community site is nearby. Visitors can absorb the feeling of a real English village by simply walking round or popping into the local butcher's, garden centre or Ullesthorpe's pubs. Ullesthorpe hotels further retain and reflect traditional English culture. The best-looking religious centre in town is St Peter's Parish Church. The village is mentioned in the William Ryan novel the Holy Thief. The most popular activity here for visitors and residents alike is going on parish walks. There are three main walks. One is six kilometres long, takes about 90 minutes and goes through mostly flat, un-forested countryside. Another is seven kilometres long and takes almost two hours, and also features open countryside. The other is four kilometres long, takes about an hour, and goes through rolling pastures and farmland. Ullesthorpe also has an 18-hole championship golf course.
