Introduction to Swindon - Outskirts
Swindon is one England’s many historic towns. The area was originally settled in Saxon times. Swindon expanded greatly during the Victorian era. Much of the industry is gone, the railway is no longer a major part of the local economy and the Wilts & Berks Canal is almost completely gone. However, Swindon remains popular with tourists and day-trippers. From hotels it is easy to reach many of the attractions in both the city centre and the surrounding areas. One of the biggest attractions is the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet, the largest indoor designer outlet anywhere in Europe. A range of galleries and museums can also be easily reached from hotels in Swindon, thanks to the strong local road network. Buses and railway services also provide access to London for those staying at Swindon hotels. Many of the attractions of this scenic part of the county of Wiltshire can also be enjoyed, either via the nearby M4 motorway or smaller roads like the A119 or A420.other spellings: swindonhotels, swindon otel, swendon hotell, hote swindon, svindon hotes
