Introduction to Stockport, England
Stockport lies within the Greater Manchester region of England, so in many ways it is essentially a suburb of the large northern city. The town makes a good home base for visiting Manchester and the surrounding Cheshire countryside. Stockport hotels are often of a very high standard as they serve the business community as well as leisure travellers, and many of them can be conveniently found just off the M62 and M6 motorways. The Rivers Goyt and Tame converge in Stockport to form the River Mersey. The city itself has a mix of old cobblestone neighbourhoods and modern shopping districts. Stockport has a huge natural side to, as more than half of the city’s land is preserved as parks, lakes and open countryside. The city parks offer great walks and grassy areas right in the heart of town, while its country parks showcase the lovely rolling landscape of the Cheshire plain and peak district.other spellings: stock port otel, stocport hotell, stokport hote, stockprot hotles, stoceport hotle
