Introduction to Shaftesbury, England
The historic hilltop town of Shaftesbury can be found in the northern region of the English county of Dorset. While the town boasts a number of modern amenities such as international restaurants and luxurious Shaftesbury hotels, it is famous for its rich history and culture. Visitors travel here all from all over England to climb to the top of Gold Hill, which has been shown in the Hovis Bread advertisements for many years. Visitors who make it to the top of this steep hill will be treated to stunning views of the surrounding area, which include a patchwork of fields. There are also pretty views to be seen from the top of the tower that is attached to the historic ruined Shaftesbury Abbey, which is another of the area's most famous landmarks. It is also easy to visit nearby Wardour Castle from here. Lovers of traditional British cuisine will be in their element here as the restaurants of the area specialise in dishes like pies and sausages that are made with fresh local produce.other spellings: shaftsbeauiehotels, otel shaftsbuy, shaftsbury hotell, shaphedsbeauie hote
