Introduction to Richmond, England
Well within the city limits of Greater London and conveniently close to Heathrow Airport is the leafy residential community of Richmond, with its wide range of shopping, historic buildings, galleries and parklands. The town is only 15 minutes by train from London's Waterloo Station. The River Thames links the town with Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens and ultimately, London. For travellers looking for Richmond hotels, a number of three- and four-star establishments can be found on Paradise and Petersham roads, a short distance away from Richmond Park and the Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club. Larger international chain hotels can be found closer to the CBD or towards Heathrow Airport. There is a wealth of attractions in and around town - over 100 parks are located here including Richmond Park, Europe's largest urban park area and home to a number of interesting buildings. For wildlife enthusiasts, a visit to the London Wetlands Centre is not to be missed. A must-see is the former playground of King Henry VIII, Hampton Court Palace, with its frustrating maze. Constructed in 1514 AD, this incredible structure provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about regal life back in the 16th and 17th centuries. other spellings: richmondhotels, rishmond hotell, rithmond hote, otelin rechmond, richmont hotle
