Reading, a town in the English county of Berkshire, is a popular tourist destination. Lying no more than about an hour from the major airports around London, Reading offers a range of historic and cultural attractions, all of which are easily reached from Reading hotels. The M4 motorway runs just south of the city and the A329(M) reaches into its centre. The main railway station is easily reached on the A329 and offers excellent access to a range of inter-city services. Getting to and from London is straightforward. Reading Abbey Ruins & Forbury Gardens offer a beautiful and popular local attraction. The Museum is also popular. Many parks and beautiful buildings around the centre make for excellent for walks. To get out and see the countryside, river trips are a great option. Yet many prefer to spend their time shopping at The Oracle, the city’s most modern shopping and eating complex.
