Potters Bar is a small town in the English county of Hertfordshire, around 30kms north of central London.
It is located inside the London commuter belt and as of 2001, it had a population of around 21,600.
The town is not known for being a tourist location, but given its proximity to London, it can be a good base for those wishing to visit the capital but who do not want to stay within the city's hustle and bustle.
Transport links into London are excellent, with the M25 motorway running just south of Potters Bar and junctions 23 and 24 serving the town.
