Introduction to Pevensey, England
Pevensey, located around eight kilometres northeast of Eastbourne, is a civil parish and village in the English county of East Sussex. The parish has a population of roughly 4,000 people and is made up of three areas: the ancient village, the farmland on Pevensey Levels and the resort of Pevensey Bay. The village area is small and historic, and boasts many ancient buildings. It is dominated by Pevensey Castle's East Gate, which was constructed in Norman times and is open to the public. The village is also home to England's smallest town hall. The bay area is a popular holiday spot, and several Pevensey hotels are located here. There are a range of cafes, pubs and restaurants in the bay which serve up a variety of meals. The shingle beach and shoreline are home to a variety of seabirds such as gulls, guillemots and cormorants. The Levels are full of ancient drainage dykes that cross the area and support a large number of water plants. other spellings: pevenseyhotels, pevansey hote, pevensay hotell, pevensy otel, pivensey hotle
