Introduction to Petersfield, England
Located in the southern reaches of Hampshire, Petersfield is a small regional town that is 17 miles from the busy streets of Portsmouth. There are a number of access options but the easiest way is a two-hour drive via the A3 motorway from London; there are also frequent buses and trains. Petersfield hotels are conveniently located in the centre of town on Tor Way, within easy walking distance of most shops, retail outlets, cafes and restaurants. With a population of 13,000, the town features a surprisingly large number of activities for visitors. One of the favourite spots is the Physic Garden, located on High Street. The garden is a re-creation of a herb garden from the 17th century and is open to visitors throughout the year. After enjoying the immaculately sculptured gardens, travellers can enjoy a refreshing ale at one of the many unique pubs situated in the town.
