Located in the southeast of England in Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes is a new town about 50 miles northwest of London. Fairly decentralised, the town has residential suburbs that are bordered by the M1 motorway to the east, meaning outskirts such as Newport Pagnell, Blakelands and Tongwell are well located for commuters travelling daily in and out of London. The outskirts of Milton Keynes to the south are more rural and include Aspley Heath and Woburn Golf Club, close to Little Brickhill. To the north, the periphery of the town is demarcated by lakes and rivers close to New Bradwell and Giffard Park, some of which cross underneath the M1. Milton Keynes hotels on the outskirts are mostly situated close to Interchange Park at Newport Pagnell, an industrial estate on the A508 road, on the eastern side of the motorway, where accommodation is generally less expensive than in the town centre.
