Introduction to Maldon, England
The coastal town of Maldon was one of the first settlements in the Essex region of southeast England, but today, it is perhaps best known as the headquarters of the Maldon Crystal Salt Company and a Thames sailing barge port. Most Maldon hotels are stately and historic establishments situated just brief distances from most of the town's attractions. One of the town's most popular attractions is the recently renovated Promenade Park which now includes a water splash park, children's play area, BMX track, skateboard park, wildlife garden, and boat rides along the River Blackwater. Many of the town's famous Thames sailing barges have been restored as charter vessels docked at the Hythe Quay next door to Promenade Park, and St Mary's Church also lies just a brief distance away. A gigantic sheet of embroidery commemorating the Battle of Maldon's 1000th anniversary, and almost 3,000 digital photographs of the town can be found at the Maeldune Heritage Centre.other spellings: maldonhotel, malldon hotell, maldan hote, meldon hotles, maldun hotle, maldone hotes
