Introduction to Luton - City Centre
Just 50kms north of London, the Bedfordshire town of Luton is famous today primarily for London Luton Airport, one of the key London area airports and the home of budget carrier easyJet. The town is an important member of southeast England's commuter belt and three railway stations ensure locals have good rail access to the UK capital. Many of the rail services also make it relatively easy to reach cities like Brighton, St Albans and Nottingham. The central railway station is easy to reach from Luton City Centre hotels, which are available in a range of budget levels. The M1 motorway makes it easy to reach the M25, which encircles London to the south, as well as other cities to the north. Though there are plenty of amenities in the centre of the town, many of the local attractions are found in the pretty surrounding countryside. An excellent selection of flights is available from the nearby airport, which can be reached in minutes.
