Introduction to Luton - Airport
Just over 35 miles north of London, Luton Airport is on Junction 10A of the M1 motorway in Bedfordshire and is the fourth-biggest airport with connections to the capital. Serving mainly Europe, Luton is the base of a number of budget airlines including easyJet, Monarch Airlines, Ryanair and Thomson Airways. In terms of rail links, the airport has its own station which runs services to London St Pancras on the Midland Main Line. Luton Airport hotels, most of which are four-star, are mainly located within the compound of the airport itself but there are also other options just outside that are generally less expensive before Luton city centre. These are located close to Airport Way and the nearby M1. In addition, other options exist on Luton Road and close to Farley Hill, just south of the centre of Luton. Most of the flights operating from the airport serve European cities but there are routes to Asia and North Africa as well.
