Introduction to Looe, England
The coastal community known as Looe in southwest England is actually two smaller towns called West Looe and East Looe. The River Looe forms the border between the two towns, which are linked by a bridge. Both the east and west towns are located on a small harbour whose beaches are especially popular among visitors. The broad sandy beach of East Looe, the bigger of the two towns, is most famous for its unique Banjo Pier and nearby historic St Mary's Church. A museum is now housed inside the Old Guildhall of East Looe. The Church of St Nicholas is among the most impressive landmarks of the west town, whose waterfront is lined with restaurants, boarding houses, and Looe hotels. Accommodation here is busiest during the summer and New Year's Eve. Both visitors and residents dress in their finest clothing, take to the streets, and watch fireworks to celebrate the new year.other spellings: looehotels, otelin looe, looe hotell, looe hote, looe hotle
