Introduction to London - Waterloo
The city of London is one of the most famous tourist destinations on the planet for its history, culture, theatre, nightlife, dining and shopping. The huge Waterloo Station, set on the River Thames’ south bank, is a rail hub for the southwest of England as well as Eurostar services to and from France and onward to other European destinations. Within walking distance of the station are the National Theatre, the London Film Museum and the Florence Nightingale museum. Waterloo hotels are set mainly in converted Georgian terraced houses in the streets surrounding the station, giving guests easy access to underground and overland trains to London’s plethora of sights and entertainment, as well as the many historic towns outside the capital. Shopaholics arriving for the January and summer sales seasons can hop a bus or Tube train to the West End, one of the best shopping districts in the world, and the Soho theatre district is just a short ride away from Waterloo.
