Introduction to Liverpool - City Centre
Liverpool is one of England’s best-known and largest cities, not to mention one of the only major urban areas that doesn’t have its city centre enclosed by a ring road. Instead, there are five downtown districts that encompass the official Liverpool city centre. Many of the most famous and popular attractions can be found in this downtown core, including St George’s Hall and its lovely cathedral. Within the city centre, a smaller core of seven areas makes up the Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City, which was awarded UNESCO status for its unique status in British history. A large number of art galleries and museums are located in the city centre, such as the World Museum and the Tate Liverpool. Loads of clubs, bars and other forms of nightlife entertainment are on hand, especially around Albert Dock and Concert Square. Liverpool City Centre hotels are easy to find, so it’s best to pick an area that holds the most interest and base yourself there. Visit our Liverpool Travel Guide
