Introduction to Leicester, England
There is no shortage of hotels in Leicester covering almost all budget ranges and they are just right for those wanting to see one of the oldest cities in England. Visitors interested in the history of the city should spend a few hours at Jewry Wall Museum, with its remains of the Roman Bath House, where you can learn all about the history of Leicester since ancient times. The city attracts many to watch football, rugby union, horse racing and country cricket which can, at times, make some Leicester hotels busy. There is also a fantastic range of shops here both in the city centre and at large developments on the outskirts of town. Leicester hotels also make a perfect base for visiting local beauty spots. Rutland Water, a reservoir offering fishing, sailing and jet skiing, is nearby and provides the base for a great day out that can be enjoyed by people of all ages as does the National Space Centre.
