Introduction to Isles of Scilly, England
To the southwest of England, off the coast of Cornwell, are the Isles of Scilly. There are five islands which are inhabited including: St Mary's, which is the most popular and contains an airport; St Martin's; Bryher, which is the smallest inhabited island and known for its natural beauty; St Anges, which is joined to the island of Gugh at low tide; and Tresco, which is home to the Abbey Gardens. Those who would like to explore more than one island can do so either by helicopter or via boat, the latter being the most popular option given its low cost. St Mary's is home to around 3,000 people thus it is one of the most popular islands, and home to attractions such as the Isles of Scilly Museum and Garrison Castle. As this island is one of the most popular of the five, it boasts its own airport and Isles of Scilly hotels. All five inhabited islands not only offer plenty of natural sights and several places of interest such as the lighthouse on St Agnes, but they also contain shops, cafes and restaurants for visitors to enjoy.other spellings: isles of scillyhotels, isles scely otel, isles scelly hotell, isles scily hote, isles of scily
