The Isle of Man is easy to reach from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales making it a very popular holiday and weekend break destination. The majority of Isle of Man hotels are located in Douglas, particularly on the seafront on the promenade. The island has some breathtaking scenery and many unspoilt beaches but becomes the centre of attention when the world famous TT races take place. With the influx of visitors for the event many of the Isle of Man hotels get booked up early. Isle of Man hotels vary in quality and comfort but there are a few more lavish options available in popular towns on the island including Castletown, Peel, Port Erin and Ramsey. Food lovers should make sure they sample locally made speciality produce like oak smoked kippers, Loaghtan lamb and various cheeses and ice creams. Bird watchers will not want to miss the Calf of Man sanctuary to the southwest of the island.
